Moments

Last night I let Logan crawl into bed with me to fall asleep. Logan snuggled up against my body and had his arms wrapped around my arm when he had this conversation with me...

Logan: Mom?
Me: Yeah?
L: Are you going to marry onebody else?
M: No honey, I am married to Daddy. Who do you want me to be married to?
L: Me
M: (chuckling)Oh honey, Mom's can't marry their kids
L: But when I am big like Daddy will you marry me?
M: Sure I will
(pause)
L: Mom?
M: Yeah?
L: Will you stay with me forever?
M: (heart melting) Of course I will stay with you forever.

I know that kids have this conversation with their parents all the time and Logan has said the same thing before but last night he was so sweet and sincere in the way he asked me that it made my heart melt. I don't know if it is possible to love my boys any more than I do but at that moment I thought I would burst with love.

Earlier in the evening my companion and I went to visit teach the neighbor. My companion read a quote taken from the Conference talk that Elder Ballard gave called "Daughters of God". The quote read, "First, recognize that the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction."

Last night in bed with my sweet Logan was definitely one of those "moments". I should also mention the "moment" I had about a half hour earlier...When I came home from Visiting Teaching I went downstairs to find the boys. Dresden jumped up for me to hold him and he wrapped his legs around my waist and his arms around my shoulders and tucked his head into the side of my neck and gave me the biggest hug. I'm not sure what provoked the hug but I certainly enjoyed that "moment" of love Dresden was giving me.

Needless to say, I am blessed with two amazing boys!!!

I love those moments when all the hard work and frustration of motherhood become all worth it because of a simple heartfelt conversation. It is especially nice when we recognize those moments when they happen! You are a great mom!

That is really cute! They are such good boys. Zack too has asked if I could divorce Steve and marry him. It is so funny. Keep up the good work.
